Indian opener Gautam Gambhir was on Saturday rushed to a regional hospital for a pre-cautionary medical examination for minor concussion after he injured himself on the 2nd day of the 4th and final cricket Test against England here. Gambhir`s head hit the soil hard while trying a catch yesterday and as he was feeling not comfortable today, he was taken to the clinic for a diagnostic.
Rahul Dravid opened in the Indian respond along with Virender Sehwag after England announced their 1st innings at 591 for 6. Gambhir rushed to hospital for health-related check-up. “Gambhir had a slight concussion when he hit the soil while trying to catch a ball a day ago. As he was continuing to feel not comfortable today, he was sent for a precautionary diagnostic. The medical check-up is underway,” a BCCI report says.
Gambhir had also missed the 2nd Test at Trent Bridge after he was hit on his left shoulder by a sweep shot by English batsman Matt Prior in the 1st game at Lord`s.
